YooHoo — we’re off t’Lake District. Extend the summer at a new northern hearth held by lakes, woodlands, stars, and each other.
We dream of co-creating space that supports and elevates faeries with diverse, overlapping identities — race, gender, class, and ability. Bring your tender heart in all its magical manifestations.
This is a mindful, present, intentional substance-free gathering (no alcohol or mind-altering drugs — the venue requires it, and we want presence with each other).

A brand-new Northern gathering. Lakes are promised. Queer beings co-creating radical, alternative living — contribution welcome, never compulsory.
Share and listen from the heart. Co-created, confidential spaces where faeries speak without reply or debate — only witnessing. Optional, and a deep way into the room.
We cook and eat together. Lunch and dinner teams form each day. Meals are vegetarian with vegan options; local, seasonal, organic where we can. Name dietary needs on booking and on the kitchen board. Fridge and freezer space is limited.
If you see something that needs doing, why not be the one to do it — dishes, tables, sweeping, wood, and more.
Non-competitive evening performance. Zero talent required. Bring music for your act if you need it.
Goods and services raise money for NOTAFLOF. Bring clothes, crafts, plants, massage, tarot — and name cultural origins honestly if you donate culturally significant items.
Intimacy, play, touch, and consent — open to adult faeries of all gender identities, sexualities, and anatomies. Opened with a boundaries ceremony. Volunteers welcome to set up, tidy, and take down; soft furnishings gratefully received.
Workshops, rituals, dancing, drumming, theatre, music, art, games, drag, silence, chaos — if you bring it, scribble it on the schedule.

Pardshaw Quaker Centre — Cockermouth, Cumbria.
Main meeting room with wood-burning stove, cosy chairs, large dining table and pews. Adjacent small meeting room. Kitchen in the corner of the main room (cooker, hob, kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer) plus a small drinks kitchen in the schoolroom.
No separate bedrooms — we sleep together across two larger rooms and one smaller. Foam mattresses in the large rooms; three raised beds for access needs. Bring your own sleeping bag, linen, and pillows.
Limited flat spots in the burial ground (about five). Vans and campers discouraged — parking is tight on a country lay-by; save spaces for cars and day trips.

Train to Penrith, then X4/X5 bus to Cockermouth (~1h 15m). Pardshaw is about four miles south — a short drive; cycling possible; walking not recommended (busy road, no footpath). Nearest stop: Oakhurst Garden Centre on the X5. Other stations: Carlisle, Workington, Maryport.
Please ride-share or use public transport. Space for about four small cars by the front door. EV charging via 13A plug (bring your adaptor) — contribute for electricity used.
Affordable venue chosen so local fae can come — and so we can stand in solidarity more widely. Venue ~£900 for six nights; food budget ~£8 per faerie per day. With buffer, break-even around £125–£150 depending on numbers.

On the booking form you can opt to share a percentage of your pledge with an organisation supporting queer people facing persecution. We’ll choose together at the gathering — bring ideas.

Three raised beds for access needs. Paths and the burial-ground toilet involve outdoor walking. Tell us needs early so we can plan. Substance-free space may support some nervous systems; dorm-style sleeping may not suit everyone — ask if unsure.
From the department for Faeries Using Communication Kindly (F.U.C.K.): consent is informed, uncoerced, sober enough, and withdrawable. Silence, nudity, drunk, or asleep is not consent — only a clear yes. Touch must be enjoyed both ways. Welfaeries are present; know who they are. If “no” is ignored, shout for help.
Faeriespace is not a guaranteed safe space. We strive for inclusive, welcoming, healing room — and we are still learning. You may meet challenging people or situations. We help where we can; we cannot take responsibility for everyone. Consider carefully whether this gathering is right for you.
Six spaces are reserved for faeries who identify as gender minority and/or global majority — toward decentering historically dominant groups in our community (often white cis gay men). Self-definition on the form; no proof required. Register early if you can so we can plan. We also welcome low-income northern faeries as a soft priority when allocating places.
